As you all know, we need additional ACS members to fully staff our EOCs and other critical locations during a serious emergency lasting a week or longer. We need both additional amateur radio operators (hams) and non-radio personnel (non-hams). Non-hams have all the same privileges as hams within ACS. According to the Office of Emergency Services (OES), who we serve, all ACS members are Ventura County Disaster Service Workers(DSW) - Communications Service.

We desperately need additional non-hams. If you have a spouse, friend, neighbor that would like to volunteer/help with emergency communications during a disaster, we would love to have them join our ACS family.

ACS members typically work in Emergency Operation Centers, disaster sites, and other sensitive locations. Because of the sensitive nature of these assignments, all perspective ACS members must undergo a thorough background search conducted by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, be finger printed and have their picture taken.
